Ripped to Shreds

WILFRED SHREDDED T-SHIRT, SIWY JEANS, GUCCI SHOES

Things I fancy: t-shirts, jeans and 4+ inch heels. I'm loving this new Wilfred shredded t-shirt I picked up at Aritzia last week; so much that I also bought it in black. My habit of buying clothes that are distressed can easily be corresponded to the less or more phrase. Less fabric, more skin. I'll probably regret it when winter hits and the majority of my clothes are merely a sheer fabric, but it only gives me more reason to invest in the economy, right?

XOXO,

Killa

Quick snapshots before I leave for work. At long last, my Gucci 'Kills' open-toe platform booties have arrived. 5.5 inches of pure bliss, aaaaah.

I've come to realize a lot of the things I tend to find beauty and solace in have dark themes. I do enjoy the brighter things, but have a greater appreciation for the dark side. I also think Tim Burton is a genius.

Go On, I'm Fearless

As previously mentioned, I got two new tattoos, both of which were inspired by my sister. When she passed away suddenly in 2007, I promised myself I would keep memories of her burning strong and keep her alive through thoughts and prayers. Despite my shortcomings in the past, I feel this certainly makes up for it.

The first is two stargazing lilies on the inside of my left wrist to represent my sister and I. Stargazing lilies are my favorite flowers, and it was hers as well. The second is the word, "fearless," on the inside of my right bicep. I say this in all humility and in complete absence of arrogance.

There have been countless tests and blessings in my life, some of the most intense of which have helped me emerge triumphantly against alluring temptation and negativity, especially during the last two years. But regardless of all the personal ramifications, it has in no way hindered my faith. Instead, it has strengthened and solidified it. Thank you to those who have been there to help me through it all, and thank you to the ones who have left me. You've made me prove to myself that I can do this on my own.

  • Thank you to Tanea of DON'T TRIP..YET for selecting me as this week's FOTW.
  • I got two more tattoos today (I now have three in total), hence the visible bandage. I'm very pleased with how they both turned out, thanks to Patrick of Sacred Heart Tattoo. Will post pictures tomorrow.
  • This morning I also received a copy of Who What Wear: Celebrity and Runway Style for Real Life. It's smaller than I expected, but still a great addition to my collection of coffee table books.
  • I'm slightly disappointed with Alexander Wang and Christopher Kane S/S 2010 collection. Then again, spring was never really my season anyway. Looking forward to London, Paris and Milan Fashion Week, though.
  • I finally got cable again, just in time for last night's episode of Gossip Girl. Dan + Georgina + kissing = FILTH.
  • Currently listening to Colbie Caillat's new album, "Breakthrough". Her songs always make me smile.

Home Sweet Home Pt. 2

About three things I'm absolutely positive: (1) my favorite color is red; (2) I have too many holes in my walls; and (3) I'm a wee bit obsessed with Twilight.

P.S. Happy birthday, Carrie!

ETA:

I need to get a proper blanket.

Still Feels Like Summer

WILFRED CROPPED BOYFRIEND SHIRT, SILENCE & NOISE CORSETRY BRA, TALULA PANTS, YSL SHOES

I realize I'm long overdue on an outfit post. To be honest, I've lost some interest in the blogging world and have rekindled my love of reading novels instead. Part of the reason being I don't have cable TV, yet, and my parents and boyfriend are now back in Calgary, leaving me with a little more time on my hands. I hardly ever go out, unless, of course, it's for a special occasion. Otherwise, I feel the most content coming home after a long day and curling up in bed (yes, I finally have one again) with a good book.

A huge thank you to all those who continue to read, comment and follow my blog regardless of my absence. I'm always in a state of perpetual amazement at how many sweet and insightful readers I have; and to one of my most loyal haters fans of all, "Tegan", I find it absolutely hilarious that you think I'm worth so much of your time. Let me just clarify that I did in fact go to college, which is why I am able to afford such nice things. If it wasn't for my education, I would not have my job with Gucci. But being able to afford these things doesn't make me any less human. I've never complained how "miserable" my life is, but rather shared personal thoughts. This is my blog afterall, and I will post anything that I want to lest it lose its entire purpose.

XOXO,

Home Sweet Home

Apologies for being MIA. Since moving, I've been without internet until today. As promised, here are some pictures of my new apartment. My bedroom (I still don't have a mattress) and office area is currently in the works. I'll post more pictures once they're both complete.

XOXO,
