Family First

This is my latest tattoo, and maybe the most original yet. It's dedicated to my parents; the two most incredible people I know. The first two Chinese characters mean "family", and the following two means "the utmost superior/the most important". Ngan Siu-Mui, a Montreal-based artist and expert in traditional Chinese calligraphy, designed it for me using crazy cursive script. Thanks, Ngan!
I often get asked why I like tattoos so much. I got my first one when I was 16 and have obviously gone ink crazy ever since. To put it shortly, tattoos to me are a productive pain. It's the only pain in life that I'm aware of where you choose to hurt, but even as you're hurting, you know exactly what you're going to get out of it. Plus my tattoo artist is cute. There, I said it.
XOXO,

This is my fave outside of all the tattoos you have (that you've shown on ur blog that is)
I'm not so crazy about tattoos but I heart Chinese calligraphy. Having an addiction to typography I'd get something of that nature.
I love the placement and meaning behind it! Also loving the new hair cut!!
wonderful!!!!! that is one lovely mark!
I've been looking for someone who could do cursive Chinese calligraphy! Thanks so much for sharing, and your tattoo looks gorgeous.
I've never been a fan of tattoos, but you somehow manage to make them look classy. And I think it's really great that there is meaning behind all of yours. Lovely.
Very beautiful! I love it with that tank top.
I love the script of the new tat! It's hard to be original when getting Asian characters tattooed on (so over and misused) but you definitely successfully pulled it off!
that looks great lily!!!! I still have yet to get my first; have a feeling I may be like you and everyone else in that I WILL GET ADDICTED!
Have a great weekend :)

Looks amazing! Great details and I love the brush strokes.
That's a gorgeous tattoo. My little cross was more than enough pain I could handle ;-) There is a saying you might like and probably know:
"Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional".
Cute! I like how neat and traditional the font looks.
Beautiful tattoo! And lol at the tattoo artist comment! You're so funny!
Its lovely. I like the meaning behind it.

It's a good one. I've seen shitty cursive kanji and this is definitely done well.
And if your ink artist is cute, hey, even more reason to get more done, right?

hey, awesome tattoo.
who is your tattoo artist?
need a vancouver-based recommendation.
thanks!
i absolutely love your tattoos! Very profound and beautiful. I know how you feel about them and I have 5 myself. They are such a beautiful form of art and mental expression. I think my fav one from your ink collection has to be between the lily and the chinese calligraphy tattoos. You are one of the few people i know that isn't into them because they are just a need to submit to fad,but these displays of art come a special place in your heart. That to me is fantastic.
the absolute perfect explanation
