I deliberately chose not to have any image up with this text. Recent events have made me realize that there are times in your life when your judgement and character are put to a true test. I don't want to go into detail about it (when do I ever?) nor will I name names. None of that is necessary. I've come to a point and place where a lot of the things that would bother any other human being have become almost routine occurrences in my life. Am I desensitized by the common mishaps resulting from human flaw? Have I become immune to this type of "situation?" Perhaps.
I understand we live in a world where we're bound to hurt and to hurt others; we're intended to fall, obligated to fail and destined to feel pain. But sometimes I truly feel I pay for my kindness, and that same respect/courtesy isn't reciprocated. I have a restless heart; a heart that yearns to love and be loved. I can't help it. I know life isn't suppose to be easy, but should it always be this hard?

Totally know what you're saying, actually, was just thinking about it lately too. Realized I was probably really vulnerable if I was feeling what I was feeling, but then I also realized that with being as tought and strong as I am my vulnerability is exactly what makes me a woman. Yeah, I get you on this one. I meet tons of models, fashion people, you name it and I am generally a nice person and always ready to lend a hand or take an interest in people. But then people screw you over and you see they had an ulterior motive in associating themselves with you. So when I get pissed off, I take it out on the people who care unknowingly. I have tried to channel my "inner bitch" but hey this is who I am and I just have to take meeting new people with precaution. I have recently gone through Facebook, my phonebook, etc deleting flakers and people who as my mother always says "If they don't have value to your life then don't associate with them".
You are a wonderful person and that's all that matters. ;-)

I agree with her snoblak! People always want something in return it's sick...by the way...do you not get sick of people asking if you miss your hair? If you cared about missing it..then you wouldn't have cut it OBVIOUSLY.
It's like people don't like change or something..even though I did love your long hair the short is even better because it's new and different..and that's all the matters! I'm going to cut mine off this year...any advice about the dramatic change? I love your forwardness

it's said that no good deed goes unpunished, and i'm definitely one of those who feels like everything you're saying is true for me as well. all the kindness and efforts and well wishing seems to amount to absolutely nothing and my heart gets trod on ever so frequently.
the 'common mishaps' seem to be a perpetual daily occurrence to the point where i think i'm becoming harder/numbed to the whole process. i'm sorry that you're going through such a difficult transition (or what i assume to be so). the respect/courtesy should be expected, but if you don't get it, then you ought to keep it moving. that was/is a tough lesson for me to learn (in fact i'm going to THERAPY for it, wtf). the difficulty seems to be inherent and maybe we're just blessed that way. we're resilient. and the hardest of diamonds must be unearthed and tempered to sparkle.
i hope your load lightens and you find the solace you need. :)

Hmm sounds interesting, but from what little you hint, I understand the feeling! It's hard to know who you trust and actually I have a hard time saying who those people I do trust are b/c you never know really do you? Is it that the Universe/God/Whatever powers that be have decided that we who suffer can just handle it better than other people? Ridiculous!
All I know is that so many people are suffering silently and it doesn't appear there's ever any abatement to the adversity they/we face. Makes you wonder what our purpose is.
Be strong, carry on. You've handled it so far, and you will continue. Doesn't mean life is great, but you're alive. I guess it beats the alternative, eh!
