Vancouver's Own

We are a force to be reckoned with. Last week I had the pleasure of doing a photoshoot collaboration with fellow bloggers and friends, Vaness of The Haute Pursuit and Peter of The Starving Stylist. In the words of Vanessa herself (she came up with this wonderful idea), "We want to show people that you don't need to go all the way to New York to find inspiration and Sartorialist-like photography. You can find it right in your backyard!"
Stay tuned for a behind-the-scenes video, complete with individual and group Q&A, and utterly embarrassing clips of me laughing hysterically for no apparent reason.

WILFRED BLOUSE, AMERICAN APPAREL LACE BODYSUIT & PANTS, GUCCI SHOES
I'm getting used to posting more often; I haven't decided yet if that's a good or bad thing. This lace bodysuit is my latest purchase from American Apparel. I love it except when I have to use the little ladies room and I turn into one of those annoying girls who take forever in the stall (sorry!).
I lose interest in things quickly and as a result, disabled my Formspring account. I don't know what part of "please don't ask a question I've already previously answered" some people don't understand. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I still get a good amount of emails asking me about shopping and trends and what I like and why. Truth be told, with the exception of shopping online, I rarely go into a store with a specific idea of what I want and instead just grab whatever appeals to me. I think people rely too much on the opinions of others when they really should just dress how they feel in that exact moment.

Life As I Know It

MARLEY JACKET, T BY ALEXANDER WANG TANK TOP, SILENCE & NOISE CORSETRY BRA, CHANEL NECKLACE
Today I woke up at noon and spent the afternoon taking unnecessary amount of Photo Booth photos. Productive, I know. With all this free time after last week's drastic turn of events, I'm at a loss what to do with myself. It all seems very strange and unfamiliar to me and quite frankly, I'm bored beyond description.
I'm glad many of you are enjoying my Q&A on Formspring. Keep 'em coming, but please don't ask a question I've already previously answered. It's no fun being asked the same question in different wording ten times. Also, there are certain things I refuse to comment on. I'm an avid believer some things are better left unsaid.
XOXO,

Lazy Sunday

I noticed I've picked up some more followers of late, and since I'm terrible at any kind of correspondence, I thought I'd make it easy and create a Formspring account. If you're feeling ballsy, leave your name; otherwise, you can send questions anonymously. Go ahead, ask me anything!

When It Rains, It Pours

TNA RAGLAN PULLOVER, AMERICAN APPAREL SHORTS & SOCKS, GUCCI SHOES
It's not really raining. It's actually quite nice out, but I'm inside drowning myself in a gallon of cookies 'n cream ice cream while watching The Hangover (God, I love that movie). Yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. Details are unnecessary, but after you've faced the worst, your days can only get better... or so my horoscope says. I hope it's right.

Life is Never Easy for Those Who Dream

VEDA LEATHER JACKET, AMERICAN APPAREL T-SHIRT, CURRENT/ELLIOTT JEANS, ALEXANDER WANG SHOES
This leather jacket is my first purchase of 2010. I'm absolutely smitten with the funnel collar and off-center zip closure, not to mention the color. That said, however, I need to remind myself to get my shit together and spend less money on clothes and more towards trips. I want to go to Toronto and New York this year; my future residence, one or the other. I don't belong with the pretentious types that consume Vancouver. East coast, here I come!
XOXO,

Queen Bee

CURRENT/ELLIOTT SLEEVELESS DENIM JACKET, AMERICAN APPAREL HOODIE, TANK TOP & TIGHTS, CLUB MONACO SKIRT, WILFRED HAT, YSL SHOES, GUCCI BAG
Channeling my inner Jenny Humphrey today, especially with my Queen Gucci top handle bag from Cruise 2008.

How beautiful is this Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture book? This limited edition Takashi Murakami version, which includes a plexiglass slipcase engraved with Damier pattern, offers a "critical selection of the creative exchanges forged between Louis Vuitton and a growing number of designers from the worlds of art, architecture, design, photography and fashion." In other words, it's the perfect addition to my growing collection of books.
P.S. Hello to my fellow reader, Tara, whom I met last week at my work.
XOXO,

Cheers to a New Year

SOURCE: WE HEART IT
As I've stated endlessly, there have been countless tests and blessings in my life. Out of all the blessings that I've encountered as of late, there is one that truly stands out in my mind: I've finally mustered up the strength to let go of everything, and I mean EVERYTHING; whether it happened recently or a while ago, that may have hurt me or brought me down. I've let go of those who didn't deserve me and I've remained steady despite the lashes like a heavy rock in a river. From now on, I promise myself I'll only give the best of me to those who truly deserve it. No one should ever have to spend their lives defending the things they do, the decisions they make or justifying why they are the way they are. No one should ever have to spend their lives disproving all the false accusations made about them. Any life spent doing that is a wasted one. I'm strong and I never compromise my values and morals. If you can't or refuse to see that in me, then you don't deserve me either.
So for the first time in a long time, I'm allowing myself to focus on nothing but my dreams, my goals and the future that lies ahead of me. May 2010 be a year of endless possibilities.
XOXO,
