Won't Go Home Without You
I have issues with making places feel like "home." When I moved to Vancouver at 19, everywhere else I lived always felt so temporary. It wasn't until a year ago I started to make a conscious effort to decorate—this is my current attempt (my bedroom and bathroom is still a work in progress). Side note: I'm still on the hunt for a black cowhide rug.

People say funny things to me, especially when they're hiding behind the cowardly disposition of anonymity. Apparently I'm a "run-of-the-mill bitch with nothing to say but money to show," my style "sucks ass" and I look like a "butch woman trying to bring back the 80s." Aww, I love you too.
Anyway, is it too early to be watching The Nightmare Before Christmas (my all-time favorite movie), How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Elf? No, didn't think so.

P.S. Did you guys watch Oprah's Teen Heartthrob episode? My 11-year-old self made a screaming reappearance when all five Backstreet Boys came on stage; even more so when they sang their first single from their 1999 album Millennium, "I Want It That Way". Cheesiness of the music video aside, I still love this song (and every other song they ever made).

I stirred up quite a bit of discussion in the comment thread with my last post. I'm not a fan of sugar coating, obviously. I think it's important to write about topics other than just what we're wearing as though it merited documentation. That shit gets so boring after a while.
On that note, I booked a weekend trip to Calgary for later this month. As I get older, I'm realizing that as cliché as the saying goes, home (aka family) is truly where the heart is.
