A Letter to Myself

3.1 PHILLIP LIM CARDIGAN, T BY ALEXANDER WANG TANK TOP, TALULA LACE BRA, LEVI'S JEANS, WILFRED BELT, YSL SHOES, URBAN OUTFITTERS HAT, MICHAEL KORS WATCH, HERMES & CC SKYE BRACELETS
I wrote this in 2003. I was 15.
XOXO,

Dear Troubled Self,Some things never change while others refuse to stay the same.
I can feel it in the way that you now walk down the street you are poised and ready to break into a sprint in the direction that is less crowded by these constant demands. Though your eyes are cast down in seeming humility and the willingness to please, your resolve is set straight and you have never been so full of spirit. It breaks you down that you are forced to stay within yourself when the very last thing you wish to do is feel bound to the pain that plagues you. It tears you apart that you are being forced to stay stagnant and silent. I understand and it hurts me too. I see your pulse lacking the life that drives you, but your posture has never failed before so dare not let your spine slack and your feet drag now. Refuse that instinct inside you that is yearning to cut yourself from those that love you and struggle through the haze of melancholy. Let those tears you so stubbornly ebb spill so that you may purge the polluted edges of your soul and once again see that you are always wild and free.
Sincerely,
Your Inner Peace
XOXO,

Wow, you were so poetic and aware of yourself at such a young age! I am constantly amazed at how well you express yourself and how in touch with yourself you are. You inspire me to do the same!
you know what makes your blog so original is not just your sense of style but these anecdotal stories behind almost every post. Hope you get past this rough patch and continue to express yourself you have an abundance of lovely readers who love what you do!!
That is a beautifully written letter Lily. I hope that you have felt wild and free during some of your life's moments ever since you wrote this letter (and continue to today).
beautiful! and i love your look!
Lily.. You truly are inspirational.. you inspire me. You are wise beyond your years. Your thoughts run deep and to think that this was written when you were only 15 amazes me. I envy that you can clearly pen your thoughts, something I've always struggled with.
You are so beautiful inside and out.. and I really do hope we can meet one day. It would be great to get to know you and take a peek into your wonderful self. <3
xx Love & Aloha
Absolutely not confused! Personally I think it's amazing that sometimes our younger years tend to provide just as much wisdom if not more that our present ones. Your 15 year old self was obviously yearning for more. Makes me want to sing "Born free" lol. But may your inner peace be more peaceful! It's been a long time since I visited your blog, hope everything is going well :)
Oh I see that you've tattoo!!! So awesome! All look is really great, little bit casual, but still great :))

Simply BEAUTIFUL. Thank you so much for this honest post. And I can totally relate to what you're saying here. I feel as long as we have our loved ones always by our side to inject some sanity when things fuck up in our lives. That's all that matters :)

OK, I'm confused.....:-)
But, again, your pics. blow me away... ♥ the side shot of the AWang 'T' → Just enough sexiness, Lily. And ♥ the way you tucked the front of the 'T' into your Levi's → Gives it a Balmain-esque slouchy sexiness that suits your style perfectly ☆ Kinda' disappointed I can't get a good look @ your beautiful face.......but......I'll take it.... :-)

Wow, that almost made me cry haha. That's a really deep post and kinda shocking for a second, shocking how much I can relate to it. Anyway, awesome outfit once again and really diggin' the cardigan.
This was beautiful doll. Your words are magical at times, and deepest in the best way.

That's beautiful! I won't say that I understand what you're going through, because everyone has their own personal journey. Please know that I, too, went through a period like this. It's tough to even be yourself some days. I wish you much strength.
Would it be too weird saying that today I was wearing almost the same outfit? Not the brands but the general idea... (and even the colors).
To some persons the expression "be true to yourself" has different meanings... So you know, stay true
xx
Pretty cardigan!

You are a uniquely profound individual, Lily. I love coming to your blog, not for the outfit posts (as much as I enjoy them :), but to read what you have to write. More often than I care to admit, your words have brought to the surface some of the fear, frustrations and overwhelming uncertainty of what I want, need and desire in my life. I'm still desperately searching for answers to still this restlessness inside of me, but I'm hopeful for the future. Take care, and keep being you. :)
You fascinate me. Beautiful outfit, quirky photos, and a sharp mind behind it all.
Love the tattoos!
