Written Word

SOURCE: WE HEART IT

Last night was a formidable and melancholy night for me, ensued by a certain loved one I need not mention specifically. I was completely disheartened by this person whom I used to look up to, and so I started to write. Have you ever written something, then read it again and marvel at yourself for sounding so out of character? Yet, I think it's important to express ourselves through writing, especially at the peak of our greatest emotions. When you're disappointed, hurt, angry; that is the moment when thoughts buried surface and things you fail to admit and itch to run away from are revealed.

Side note: See something you like on my blog that I've worn? Just ask. I may consider selling it. I sold this Wilfred sweater, Siwy sequin leggings and Holt Renfrew hat recently.

XOXO,

So true, though I caution against sending out your writing to the subject person in the heat of that moment!

In the past I used to do this, to write how I feel in that moment..and after some time I would read it and be amazed.

Love the shorts.

I wear my heart so much on my sleeve, that, most of the time when I do write out of emotional response, I'm not too surprised by the words, except that they are much more intense than I was able to express out loud. And more often than not, I feel absolved; unless I want to wallow in the melancholia, then I read it over and over and over and urge myself internally to cry.

Writing is a better response than anything physical, and easier to do than speaking, sometimes, so whenever you feel that way, just write me. I'm here to listen.

Ah I wish I'd known that you were selling your sweater, it's gorgeous!

I love this post Lily...as a writer, I can definitely attest to how important it is to let your throughts and emotions flow out through the pen/computer and in that stream of expression, see if you can uncover anything new or something that you maybe weren't aware of beforehand.

I hope that whatever happened last night proves to be a positive experience for you in the long run, even the negative things can always be lessons right? Thanks again for such an honest and thoughtful post Lily.

I think that writing to express ourselves is very important. I used to keep a diary when I was younger, but stopped as I grew up because other things kept me busy. I think I should start writing in it again!

Love your top!
