Tessa and I went to Liberty Bakery on Main Street to indulge our sweet desires and talk about our latest adventures. To me, fall is the most beautiful time of the year. I actually don't think I can communicate in coherent sentences how I feel about the season. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling in the pit of my stomach just thinking of the crisp air, the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet, the cozy sweaters, the whip cream melting into a mug of hot chocolate and pumpkin flavored everything.
Now that I'm back in Vancouver, I've been looking into local volunteer opportunities. No matter the bullshit that I'm facing, someone out there could always use my help. Remember: Stay humble and give back. You never know when you're changing someone's life, or saving it.

Autumn is my favorite time of year, too. It's going to be a really sad time when I move to Hawaii and think, it should be getting cooler, it should be tree change soon... and then no, it's still 30C and I'm sweating on the beach. Don't get me wrong, Hawaii is lovely, I just don't know how I'm going to do without an autumn to look forward to.
I'm so glad you're home and you are looking to continue this humanitarian streak in you. I am so proud of you and all the good you're doing for yourself and for others.

Oh, I absolutely adore fall! Since I skipped it last year by moving to Mexico, I'm appreciating fall that much more this year. It always feels like a fresh start to me.

So, I have to ask: is it strange to step right back into a life that is so far from the one you were living in Nepal? I have taken two "breaks from life" - once to travel in Asia (for two years) and the last one in Mexico. It might not happen immediately, but eventually the reality of such sharp changes comes crashing down on me. It's not that it's a bad thing; I just think that sometimes it takes a while for me to process all the changes. Anyhow, just curious! Hope you are well, Lily!
