Had a wonderful afternoon and evening yesterday with Tessa (and Jenny) at Crab Park. We're both leaving for Asia in September so we thought it'd be fun to do one last shoot before our trips. Expect more collaborations between the two of us in the future, and I don't mean just fashion-related. More on that later.

I just went back and edited a bunch of old posts. Does anyone else do this? I am way too critical of myself. I consider this my biggest flaw.

I often get asked to define my style and I always find it really hard to answer. I guess you could say it's minimal, or whatever-it-is-that-I'm-into-at-the-time. Apparently that also makes me "edgy", whatever that means.

"You're not wearing that to Nepal, are you?"

FREE PEOPLE LACE TOP, MINKPINK DENIM SHORTS, MIU MIU SHOES, CHANEL BAG, H&M HEAD SCARF

Less than 4 weeks until I leave for Nepal. I am so very grateful for the continued love and support from my family, friends and readers. The amount of gifts I have received to give to the orphans in Kathmandu has been overwhelming in the most wonderful way. I'll be departing Vancouver on September 18th at 2:45am to Hong Kong, and Hong Kong on September 19th at 6:50pm to Nepal. Any trip suggestions are warmly welcome. I'd also love to hear some of your own experiences in the country (if any) and/or experiences traveling alone in general.

XOXO,

An Evening of Philanthropy

submiT is a one-night event happening on Thursday, August 18th at Performance Works on Granville Island, celebrating the power of creation, education and community in Vancouver and across the planet in Ethiopia. 10 high-profile local artists have submitted (pun intended) amazing designs that will be printed on limited-edition t-shirts in hopes of raising $20,000 through t-shirt sales and donations for imagine1day, a charity committed to ensure all Ethiopians have access to quality education funded free of foreign aid by 2030.

I, unfortunately (the understatement of the year), will not be there, but I thought I'd do my part to help spread awareness of this important event as well as encourage those of you in Vancouver to attend and support. The submiT team is also kindly offering my readers 2 tickets to the event, a $60 total value. All you need to do is answer the following question: If you could do one thing to change the world, what would it be?

Share your answer either on submiT's Facebook wall and tag @bleedforfashion in your response, or tweet your answer on Twitter and mention @submiTvancouver and @bleedforfashion so that we know you're talking to us. Winner will be drawn at random from all entries tomorrow, August 17th at 10pm PST and will be announced both on Facebook and Twitter.

Is It Fall Yet?

I miss Daria, and 90s TV shows in general (Ready or Not, Student Bodies and Breaker High, anyone?).

What were your favorite shows growing up?

You've Got The Love(social)

I currently have the honor of interning for Lovesocial, a little social media agency that does big things. Above is a video created by Azita Ardakani, founder of Lovesocial, about the ever-developing story of social media and just how special this time in history is. So sit back, relax and enjoy, then your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to share the love.

XOXO,

Pass You By

I read somewhere, "If you keep having to ask where you stand with someone, maybe it's time to start walking away." Well, shit. Although my black heart is going to hate me for admitting this, I'm your hopelessly in love with love romantic type of fool. I believe in the butterflies, the twinkle, the giggly feeling, the smiles, the happily ever afters and the song that only you can hear. I also believe learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all. Just ask (pre-crackish) Whitney.

As I said before, I'll take care of me, and you'll take care of you. Then when we're both ready, we'll take care of us. Well, I'm ready and have been for a while now. I don't mind putting myself out there; however, I'll only go so far for someone. There's a limit to what I can take and I'll be damned if I cross that line. Worthy or not, I cannot fully pour my heart and soul out when I feel that what I'm offering is far less than what I'm receiving in return. Call it a flaw if you must, but I need reassurance. When I reach out and extend my hand, take it, because too little, may very well be too late. All those who can relate, say "I".

ETA:

I wrote this yesterday. It's funny how quickly my mood can change. I can sleep easy now.

P.S. Do you like my hair? Go see Calvyn at Style Lab Headquarters, but only if you want to look and feel awesome. No, seriously.
