Real Love is a Feeling Not Many Understand

I usually don't talk about my clothes, especially since I feel they're really of no significance, but these cutoff shorts deserve an extra shout out for being so awesome. Cutoffs are an essential summer style staple for me. Who says being rough around the edges is a bad thing?
Here I am walking my baby girl around my parents' neighbourhood on mine and my boyfriend's last day in Calgary. I always enjoy my trips home. Normally I stay with my parents, but this time my boyfriend and I stayed at the Westin along with some members of the wedding party. It was wonderful seeing faces from the past both lovely and dear to me, and having my boyfriend by my side made it even better. The extra tight squeeze, the hand reaching out, the adoring smile, the small talks; just thinking about it gives me butterflies.
Love is a funny thing. Just when you think you can do without it for a little while, it shows up unannounced at your doorstep and lets itself in. When it does, it takes you on rides. Some days you're cruising with the top down, while other days you're on a roller coaster holding on for dear life.
There's a million reasons why we all need love. My mind's incapable of constructing sentences fit to capture and emphasize each reason, so I won't dare bother. But I will say this: it's a feeling one cannot fathom until it happens. It can float you to the stars, or it can bring you down to your knees. The word "love" is often abused, but when used properly, it doesn't even suffice.
Love changes lives, and it certainly changed mine.

your baby is so cute! i`m a dog mama myself and i can`t help seeing the bond between animals and their parents (i just sounded like a crazy dog lady..i swear i`m not!). i also loved reading your post today. you captured exactly what i feel about love without needing to say too much, which i think is perfect. it`s not one of those feelings you can describe. glad to see you`re doing well and that you`re happy!

Beautiful writing! And I agree with you... I always thought it was cheesy, but you do really feel when he's "the one". It just feels right. Even when you're fighting, you know your fighting for something and never want to give up on the other person. Regardless of their (and your) flaws!
